Most small sellers in India try ads the same way: tap Boost on an Instagram post, spend a few hundred rupees, collect likes, and never find out whether anyone bought. The problem is rarely the budget. It is that the ad has no connection to your store, so neither you nor Meta can see who ordered. Storzu does that wiring for you, and you run the ads from the same dashboard where your orders arrive.
What are the steps?
- Connect Facebook and Instagram. In the dashboard, open Customers & growth → Meta Adsand connect with Meta's business login. Only the store owner can do this.
- Pick your own accounts. Choose your ad account (the one Meta bills), your Facebook Page and your Instagram account.
- Sync your catalog and switch on tracking. Storzu creates a product catalog on Meta from your store and installs the Meta Pixel and Conversions API on your storefront. There is no code to paste.
- Create the ad. Pick the ad type and products, let AI write the copy (or write your own), and choose a button.
- Set location, daily budget and duration, then publish.
- Read the results in your dashboard, and pause, resume or delete the ad whenever you like.
What does Storzu set up on Meta for me?
Two things that usually stop a small seller from running proper ads: a product catalog and purchase tracking.
- A product catalog, kept in sync. Storzu creates the catalog on Meta from your store and keeps it updated as your products change. Product photos are converted to JPEG automatically, because Meta rejects the WebP images most websites use.
- The Meta Pixel and Conversions API.Both are installed on your storefront for you. The Pixel reports from the shopper's browser. The Conversions API reports from the server, so a purchase still counts when a browser or phone blocks tracking.
Measuring purchases matters even on a small budget. You judge ads by orders, not likes. Sales and catalog ads learn from who actually buys, so Meta shows them to people more likely to buy. And Advantage+ catalog ads need both the catalog and the Pixel before they can run at all.
Which ad type should I choose?
There are four. Each one suits a different job:
| Ad type | What people see | Best for | Needs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single product | One product photo, a headline and a button | A bestseller, a new arrival, one hero piece | One product with a good photo |
| Carousel | 2–10 swipeable cards, each with its own price | A collection: festive edit, new stock, a price band | Two to ten products |
| Click-to-WhatsApp | A product, and the button opens a WhatsApp chat with you | Made-to-order, high-ticket, "ask first" buyers, services | Your WhatsApp Business number linked to your Page |
| Advantage+ catalog | Meta picks which of your products to show each person | A wider catalog, once your store has some sales history | Synced catalog and the Meta Pixel |
Why click-to-WhatsApp ads work so well in India
A lot of Indian buying still happens in a chat: "Is this in blue?", "Can you deliver by Friday?", "Final price?". Sending that buyer to a checkout page loses them. A click-to-WhatsApp ad lands them in a conversation with you, where you answer, send the product link from your store, and take the order. If you already sell this way, read how to sell on WhatsApp first. The ad simply fills that same inbox with new people.
Judge a WhatsApp ad by the chats it starts and how many turn into orders, not by clicks alone. Reply fast. A chat answered three hours later is usually a lost sale.
Who writes the ad, and which button should I use?
AI can write the ad copy from your product details, or you can write it yourself. Read it before you publish, and change anything that is not exactly true. The headline should name the product and one concrete reason to tap it, such as fabric, size range, delivery time or price.
- Shop now / Buy now: ready-to-buy products with a clear price.
- Order now: food, groceries and made-to-order items.
- Book now: salons, classes, clinics and other appointments.
- Learn more: costlier items where people want details first.
Where should the ad show, and for how long?
Location targeting decides who can see the ad. A local bakery or salon should stay near the shop or in its own city. A seller who ships across India can go wider. Then pick a duration of 3, 7, 14 or 30 days, or run it until you stop it.
Meta reviews every ad before it runs, so a new ad is not live the moment you press publish. If Meta rejects one, the reason is usually the image or the wording, and changing it fixes most rejections. No tool can guarantee approval or results.
How much should a small seller spend?
This is general advice, not a Storzu price. You choose the budget, and Meta bills it to your own ad account.
- Start with one test. Run a single ad at roughly ₹250–₹500 a day for 7 days. That is enough to see whether people click and buy, and small enough that a miss does not hurt.
- Give it time. Do not change an ad every day. Meta needs a few days of delivery before the numbers mean anything.
- Scale what sells. When an ad brings orders at a cost you can afford, raise its budget gradually rather than all at once.
- Know your number. If a product earns you ₹400 after costs, an order that costs ₹600 in ads is a loss, however good the reach looks.
How do I see whether an ad worked, and stop it?
Spend, reach, clicks and purchases show in your Storzu dashboard next to the ad. You can pause, resume or delete it there at any time. The campaigns run in your own ad account, so you can also open them in Meta Ads Manager. Stopping spend is never locked: you can always pause or stop an ad from your dashboard.
Can I use Instagram and Facebook Shop without ads?
Yes, and many sellers should start here. The Instagram & Facebook Shoppage in the dashboard syncs your store catalog to Meta for Instagram and Facebook shopping, so you can tag products in your posts. It costs you no ad spend. Storzu shows Meta's review status for the catalog, so you can see which products are approved, and the page walks you through switching on your Shop in Meta's Commerce Manager. A tagged product on an organic post is the cheapest way to turn your existing followers into orders.
Boost a post, Ads Manager, or ads from Storzu?
| What matters | Boost a post | Meta Ads Manager | Ads from Storzu |
|---|---|---|---|
| Effort to start | A few taps | High: many settings to learn | Low: connect once, then pick products |
| Product catalog | None | You build and maintain it | Created and synced from your store |
| Purchase tracking | Not on its own | You install the Pixel and Conversions API | Pixel and Conversions API installed for you |
| Ad formats | The post as it is | All of Meta's formats and objectives | Single, carousel, click-to-WhatsApp, catalog |
| Results | Mostly likes and reach | Everything, in Meta's reports | Spend, reach, clicks and purchases in your Storzu dashboard |
| Who pays for ads | You, billed by Meta | You, billed by Meta | You, billed by Meta to your own ad account; no Storzu cut |
What mistakes waste the most money?
- Advertising a weak photo. The image does most of the selling. Fix the photo before you add budget. See our guide to AI product photography.
- Targeting all of India for a local business. A cake shop in Pune gains nothing from clicks in Guwahati.
- Hiding the price."DM for price" ads collect messages from people who leave once they hear it.
- Running ads with tracking off. Without purchases measured you are guessing, and catalog ads cannot run at all.
- Sending buyers to a store with no offer. A clear offer such as free delivery above an amount helps a cold visitor decide. See offers, loyalty and referrals.
I run a service business. Can I still advertise?
Yes. The product catalog and catalog ads are for product stores, so a salon, clinic, tutor or repair service will not use those. Service businesses can still run click-to-WhatsApp ads, where the customer messages you to ask and book, and ads with a Book now button that take people to the service on your store, where they can book.
Who is this for, and when is it the wrong tool?
It fits a seller who wants ads tied to real orders rather than likes, already sells over WhatsApp and wants more chats from new people, or has boosted posts without knowing what worked. Use Meta Ads Manager directly if you need detailed audience work, split tests, lead forms or video-first creative, or you run many campaigns with an agency. Ads from Storzu are built from your product photos and keep the settings simple on purpose.
Also remember that ads are only one channel. Free listings on Google bring buyers who are already searching. See how to get your products on Google Shopping for free.
What to do next
Create your Storzu store, add your products with good photos, and sync your catalog to Instagram before you spend anything on ads. When you are ready to advertise, start with one small test. For what each plan includes, see Storzu pricing.
